     Modifications are a great way to add extra features to your phpBB Forum. Not everyone has the ability to install Modifications. There is SQL statements that need to be run in phpMyAdmin. There is code that has to be inserted into you forum code, some people might not be comfortable with that.

     The way I do it is download your files and database and install it locally on my personal computer and then mod away. If it goes wrong your site is not effected and I fix what went wrong on my computer locally. After I test and the mod install is done I will upload it to your site. At all times I will have a backup of your original forum.
